Sacramento State Hornets Women?s Basketball Dominates San Francisco State
After two challenging losses, the Sacramento State Hornets aimed to recover against Division II San Francisco State at Hornet Pavilion, and they succeeded spectacularly. From the very beginning, Sac State showcased their strength, thrilling the crowd with impressive plays and securing a decisive 94-46 victory.
A standout moment included an electrifying alley-oop from junior guard Jahni Summers to sophomore forward Brandon Gardner, who executed a powerful dunk over a defender. Summers had an exceptional night, scoring 21 points with an impressive shooting percentage from beyond the arc. He credited his success to his early rhythm in the game.
Senior guard Prophet Johnson also shone, contributing 21 points, seven rebounds, and six steals, emphasizing the Hornets' defensive prowess with a total of 13 steals as a team. Coach Mike Bibby praised the squad's strong start and defensive efforts, noting their significant improvement in rebounding.
Looking ahead, the Hornets will face the University of the Pacific, seeking to maintain their momentum against a formidable opponent.
